Marijke was born in Assen, The Netherlands. Already at a young age she discovered her passion for theatre and took lessons in singing and musicaltheatre. At the age of 15 Marijke started her musicaltheatre education at Song&Dance in Zwolle. During the time at Song&Dance she played in multiple shows including the "Madness" musical "Our House" as Sarah.
Two years later Marijke was accepted at the Fontys Academy of the Arts where she started her bachelor in Classical Musictheatre in 2014. During her studies at Fontys she took classes from among others Harry Ruijl, Marc Krone, Brigitte Odett and Robert-Jan Kamer. She also performed in several shows including "Much Ado About Nothing" by Shakespeare and "Le Nozze die Figaro" by Mozart. In June 2018 Marijke graudated with her own final performance "Caroline".
During the summer of 2018 Marijke played in "Isadora" (Kunstklank, Noordwijk) where she played the part of "Isadorian". Furthermore during the season 2018-2019 Marijke sang as a soloist at the "Grootkoren Nederland" and performed her own show "Broadway in het Bos" at the Kuna Festival.
In 2019 Marijke continued her studies at Fontys and started her master in Musictheatre. She took lessons from among others Edward Hoepelman, Ingrid Zeegers, Ad Knippels and Marcel Visscher. Marijke graduated from her masters in Juni 2021 with "Marry me a little" by Stephen Sondheim.
Since graduating Marijke has been on stage in multiple shows and concerts. From 2022 until 2024 she played the title role in "The Little Prince" throughout The Netherlands and Belgium. During the winter of 2023-2024 she was on tour with "Die Nacht der Musicals" in Germany and Austria. In this show Marijke was a soloist and performed highlights from musicals like "Elisabeth" and "The Phantom of the Opera".
During the season 2024-2025 Marijke will be seen as Billy's mum, Ensemble and 2nd cover Mrs. Wilkinson in the first German version of the musical "Billy Elliot" in the MAAG Halle in Zürich.
